Book: The Power. Haven’t looked up commentary online but will say I disagree with the premise that if women were in power, we’d be just as bad as men.

    I have “The Power” on my to read list on Goodreads – I am intrigued by the concept – If the power in the world was shifted from men to women – and men were no longer ever a threat to women…..? I agree with your thought, I would just like to see how the author explores gender differences.
    I read The Root article as well – Earlier this year I read “Between the World and Me” by Coates. The book is a letter he writes to his son about growing up black in the US. It reminded me of the article and I would recommend the book. A quote from the book: “But you are a black boy, and you must be responsible for your body in a way that other boys cannot know. Indeed, you must be responsible for the worst actions of other black bodies, which, somehow, will always be assigned to you. And you must be responsible for the bodies of the powerful—the policeman who cracks you with a nightstick will quickly find his excuse in your furtive movements.”
